Jason and Jaime Shorey have a passion to utilize outdoor learning experiences–especially through rock climbing–to share the love of Christ. With Grapefruit rocks in its back yard, Globe Creek Camp is a great place to try rock climbing, and Jason and Jaime are excited to offer such a unique opportunity to the campers this summer. Climbing not only takes confidence and strength… it takes faith! Under expert instruction, campers will learn new skills and see how a relationship with Christ is the most exciting climb they will ever leave the ground for! Jason works as a children’s mental health clinician in Fairbanks. He is trained as a high ropes course facilitator, is a Climbing Wall Instructor-Lead through the Professional Climbing Instructors Association, and is the Alaska Chapter Coordinator with Solid Rock Climbers for Christ. Jaime currently manages the climbing facilities at UAF as a Graduate Assistant. She has been trained as a Single Pitch Instructor and Climbing Wall Instructor by the Professional Climbing Instructors Association, and is a Wilderness First Responder. Together they have over 15 years of climbing experience, over 8 years of professional climbing and high ropes instruction experience, and over 5 years of experience sharing their love and knowledge of climbing and Christ through volunteer opportunities in Maine, Alaska, and the Himalayan Mountains of India.
